I am Chesnutt "Chessie" Ohler. I am named after Mark Chesnutt. That's my mom's favorite country singer. I'm a Dachshund and I'm 3 years old now. I am a therapy dog at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA.  My mom's name is Carol and I'm her favorite subject to take pictures of. The picture with my graduation cap on was taken on the day I graduted from obedience school. I was a cowgirl for Halloween, and I have my own car seat in our truck for when we go for rides. I had my picture taken with Santa at the Northridge Mall at Christmastime. My favorite place to lay down is my mom's lap. Oh, by the way, my mom is the webmaster of this web site...that's how I got my own page. Enjoy the pics. Chessie just finished shooting an infomercial for Purina. Check her out at:

Chessie raced in the 11th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals at Los Alamitos race track on July 8, 2006. She didn't win but gave it her all. 80 Dachshunds competed....10-8 dog heats. Chessie's #2 racing halter issued by  Los Alamitos unhooked from her belly while she was running, so that might have been her distraction. She came in second. Photos by Yoti Telio.

pooch with personality.jpgJanuary 2007 - Chessie wins big (2nd place) after we enter the nationwide "Pooch With Personality" photo contest from Shutterfly sponsered by Snausages. The contest was to submit a picture of your dog doing something "human like" or something "a human could or would do". I love taking pictures of Chessie but she is not fond of having her picture taken. She especailly doesn't like the flash. This night as she was trying to sleep, I began snapping pictures so she rolled over and covered her eyes as if to say...not another picture mama...I'm trying to sleep. Way to go Chessie! P.S. Mama thanks you for the HP notebook computer you bought me with your winnings.
